Synopsis
The Jackal is an elusive assassin who makes his living by dealing the ultimate blows
He soon meets his match in the form of a tenacious British intelligence officer who pursues him on a thrilling cat and mouse chase across Europe. The Day of the Jackal; The novel was set in 1963 and concerned the assassination of then French President Charles de Gaulle.
A remake of The Day of the Jackal (1973)
The play brings the action to the present day. Lashana Lynch is not a great actress, in fact I have seen much better acting in a local amateur theatre.
Redmayne and company
It is a shame because she is not at all convincing in her role. This brings back our good performances, but Lynch’s weak performance ruins the show for me.
Her lack of authenticity makes you not care about her family problems
I really wish they had scrapped the series: there are many filler scenes and subplots that do not seem necessary or particularly relevant to the overall plot. I hope the show picks up with additional episodes, but I don’t think it’ll be enough to redeem itself.
