Almut: What’s the hurry?
Synopsis
The lives of an aspiring chef and a recently divorced divorcee are forever changed when a chance meeting brings them together in a decade-long, deeply moving romance. When Florence Pugh couldn’t make it to the premiere due to other filming obligations, Andrew Garfield brought a life-size cutout of her to fill in for her absence. In the living room with candles and a fire, Almut closes Tobias’s notebook, but in the next shot it is open.

And indeed, We Live in Time is a beautiful film. Its first virtue is that it kicks the viewer into exploring past moments and future perspectives. I don’t ignore the romance, the problems of living together, or the knife in the proximity of death.
