Inspired by a true story and directed by Magnus von Horn, THE NEEDLE GIRL follows Caroline (Vick Carmen Sonne), a young factory worker struggling to survive in post-World War I Copenhagen. When she finds herself unemployed, abandoned, and pregnant, she meets Dagmar (Trine Dyrholm), a charismatic woman who runs an illegal adoption agency that helps mothers find foster homes for their unwanted children. With nowhere else to turn, Caroline takes on the role of wet nurse. A strong bond develops between the two women, but Caroline’s world is shattered when she stumbles upon the shocking truth behind her job.
