Synopsis
A grieving therapist begins telling his clients exactly what he thinks
Ignoring his training and ethics, he finds himself making huge changes in people’s lives, including his own. The cast of “Shrinking” share their defining moments from season 1 and reveal who has the best Harrison Ford impression. When Brett Goldstein, Jason Segel and Bill Lawrence were asked how they got Harrison Ford to appear on the show, Segel said that Goldstein initially wanted a “Harrison Ford type” and would audition people who looked like Ford.

Segel told Goldstein that he had to at least bring it to Ford first, thinking he would immediately turn him down, but at least other people would hear that Harrison Ford was being brought on board, generating interest from other top actors. Eventually, Goldstein spoke to Ford and sold him on the role. Goldstein still doesn’t understand what he did to convince him, but he was thrilled nonetheless..
it’s endearing in ways most shows aren’t, only reminiscent of the show’s community for these elements
Two episodes in and this show is showing a lot of promise, the chemistry between the characters is infectious and even weird, so at times… . I’m not sure if this accurately portrays the therapist’s way of dealing with issues, but it certainly leaves room for Jason Segel to put his own spin on it.
Harrison Ford plays Dr
Rhodes, Jason’s boss and mentor. pretty well when you consider the more troubling elements of his Han Solo character from Star Wars, he fits this show like a glove. Sean (Luke Tennie) plays a bit of a son figure to Jimmy (Segel) as he deals with his family issues with his daughter Alice (Lukita Maxwell)…
And the music in this show is so good
What I see here seems so vivid and possibilities maybe (?) endless as I see Jimmy navigating these things. Btw, the intro theme of this show is so good, I didn’t even skip it when I watched episode 2… Overall, this is turning out to be a great show and I hope it continues to get better from here.
