Synopsis
Charles, a retired man, gets a new lease on life when he answers an ad from a private detective and becomes a mole in a secret investigation into a nursing home. Remake of The Mole Agent (2020). I think a lot of fiction is naturally meant to make you think something like, “It was an honor to be a part of these fictional characters’ lives.” This show achieves that goal undeniably well. Even those who come for the mystery, which it’s admittedly less focused on, should be captivated by the humanity that’s brought out not only in the writing but also in the performances of all the cast members. Props to all departments involved. While Netflix has been tough on renewing series lately, I hope they make good on that potential by giving them a season 2, as I hope to see more of these incredible characters’ journeys.
