Continuation of the story about the settlement of the American West. It follows the continuing adventures of characters first introduced in Horizon: An American Saga. The film was originally scheduled to be released in theaters on August 16, 2024. However, following the commercial failure of Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1 (2024), New Line Cinema postponed the original release date of the sequel, postponing it indefinitely. The premiere of “Chapter 2″ took place on September 7, 2024 at the 81st Venice International Film Festival, but its theatrical release is unknown. Horizon: An American Saga follows. Chapter 1” (2024). As in the first chapter, it is established that Costner once again pays tribute to the traditions of American cinema and refreshes them with a modern, but careful vision. Vast landscapes once again take center stage, reflecting the vastness and harshness of the Wild West and giving the narrative an epic scope. In the second chapter of Horizon: An American Saga, Kevin Costner continues to impress with his directorial talent and immerses the audience in an increasingly organic interweaving of stories compared to the first part. If in the previous chapter the narratives were clearly demarcated, emphasized by the skilful use of warm and cold tones to emphasize their separation, then in the second part we see a gradual convergence of storylines and their characters. The blending of colors symbolizes the gradual merging of storylines as the story gradually reveals what is really behind this “Horizon”, a name that is impressively displayed on the posters, increasing the curiosity of the audience. Costner sends the viewer on an emotional journey, conveying not only the feelings, but also the trials of the heroes, but also their deep humanity, so much so that the viewer himself begins to share their emotions and feelings. The combination of drama and comedy, which is more pronounced in this chapter, does not diminish the seriousness of the story. On the contrary, it gives it a lightness that harmonizes well with the problems and difficult decisions that the journey west entails, while staying true to the essence of the narrative and maintaining the common thread of difficulties and monumental decisions that the Pioneers face each other. . This second chapter serves as a kind of bridge between the initial immersion in history and the significant events that await us in the third, which are hinted at by the promising final passages, as it was at the end of the first episode. Once again, the actor and director leaves us in joyful anticipation and promises miracles and surprises in the next act. I cannot but repeat my praise for the masterful film music of John Debney, whose notes, skilfully intertwined with images, create. unique experience Providing a sensory experience that transports the audience to the second era. I conclude these thoughts by repeating that “Horizon: The American Saga” is destined to add its name to the pantheon of eternal masterpieces of cinema – and perhaps it has already done so – and will continue to be discussed for many years to come.
