A vivid journey through the life of Pharrell Williams, told through the lens of LEGO animation. Animal Logic, which animated the previous four theatrical LEGO films, did not return to animate the film because it would have been considered a rip-off by Warner Bros., even though both LEGO and Warner Bros. share the rights to the original franchise. Instead, animation was done at Pure Imagination Studios in Los Angeles and Cebu Animation Studios in India. Both Pure Imagination and Cebu have previously recreated the style of the original film franchise through theme park attractions, PSAs, and The Simpsons (1989) episode “Brick Like Me (2014)”. The initial Universal Pictures, Focus Features, Tremolo Productions, and Lego Group Studios logos feature Lego bricks. The Graham Norton Show features: Billy Crystal/Emily Mortimer/Hugh Bonneville/Pharrell Williams/Michael Kiwanuka (2024). A biopic about Pharrell Williams but it’s made of Legos, cool and original. But you have to ask yourself who this was made for? Because it’s a kids movie, it’s boring and most adults won’t watch it because they’ll think it’s a kids movie. I watched it last night by myself, I felt bored, the only thing saving this movie is this Lego biopic, otherwise no one would be interested except Pharrell Williams super fans. And I don’t know how the attention-grabbing features have survived all year, they are the only movie company that has consistently had an empty theater every time I’ve gone to a movie, only 5 people in total. The other two movies I’ve watched this year that I’ve watched with attention was that the theater was completely empty and I was the only one in the theater, it’s a very rare occasion for me to be alone in a theater.
