The son disappears
Synopsis
Troubled father Leon takes his son camping in the Appalachian Mountains. A local cult summons the evil demon Kata. Leon must confront a cult and a monster to find him among the growing number of corpses. During the climactic fight with The Executioner after Leon fails to remove the safety pin on the grenade (the safety lever is apparently still in place). It wouldn’t have exploded, I’d better hit him with it.
A recipe for failure
Leon: What’s going on, Toots? Written and performed by the same person? It is very rare that someone in this field can multitask. Here we have a writer who also plays the main character. Well, he can’t act.
At least not in this movie
And the story was all over the place and rubbish so apparently he can’t even write. And that seems to be a common theme when people in show business try to do too much. But the movie, well, it’s not good. A black man and his son go camping in Appalachia? Pause.
We won’t do it
First of all, camping is not one of our normal activities. Second, we know that racism must not be seen in this place. That embarrassing message at the beginning should have told me to turn the movie off. But then we meet racist locals. Sigh.
It’s already happened
This has been repeated ad nauseum. Then there is the cat. It was more of an idea. If they had focused more on that and the cult and removed the racism issue that didn’t add anything, maybe it could have been 3 stars instead of 1.
