Tourists Reject Shama Apo Coast
Coastal tourism in Ghana is threatened by a number of factors and one of them is illegal mining activities upstream. The situation is not different in the case of Shama Apo where the Pra River empties into the sea. The Shama Apo coast is defaced by the brownish water caused by heavy sediment transport from upstream mining activities. This has negatively impacted fishing and tourism activities.
